The Fairview Church exists to introduce people to the transforming power of Jesus Christ through prayer, relationships and evangelism.
We believe in God the Father, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son.
We believe in the virgin birth.
We believe that Christ was crucified and buried and that on the third day He rose from the dead.
We believe that He rose up into heaven and sits at God’s right hand and from this position He shall come to judge all people.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the forgiveness of sins, and the resurrection of the body.
We believe in His Word, that it is both perfect and without error, the final authority on all matters of faith and practice.
We believe that every person who has accepted Christ’s forgiveness is a member of the church of God.
We are the Fairview Church of God, established in 1906 as the Woodland Park Church of God. We are associated with the Church of God based in Anderson, Indiana and are a part of the Pacific Northwest Association of the Church of God.
Prayer, missions, and creation information is provided on the prayer table, set up in the auditorium every Sunday morning. Most things on the table are free, even books and magazines. We have prayer cards for the missionaries of the Church of God that the Fairview Church is supporting financially and with prayer. We support missionaries that are located in 60 areas of the world.
We have scripture prayers following Ruth Shinness’ prayer strategy books. These are very helpful for families that need love, forgiveness, and unity. Other prayer aids are available. For more information on Ruth Shinness' books please visit prayerstrategy.com
Our goal is to draw people to a relationship with Jesus Christ.
I am a native Seattleite, the only daughter of a Church of God pastor. My dad pastored a congregation in south Seattle until I was a sophomore in high school. My family moved into Seattle proper at that time and I graduated from Lincoln High School in 1967. By the way, my dad’s picture is the one on the left as you come in the main door of the school. I graduated from Seattle Pacific College in 1974 (yes, it was only a college then) with my teaching degree. I later received a Master of Education form Seattle Pacific University in 1992. I came to Fairview Christian School in the fall of 1987. My first teaching assignment was a 5/6 combination class. The next year, I moved to the 3rd grade class and continued in that position for 6 years. I was away from Fairview for four years but returned in the fall of 1999 as the middle school math/science teacher. I enjoyed that position for ten years until the summer of 2009 when I was asked to become the school administrator. I met my husband, Lew, on a blind date in 1997, and we were married on Valentine’s Day in 1998. Together we are blessed with four adult children and nine grandchildren; six boys and three girls ranging in age from 5 to 18. My son and his family live in Kansas City, Kansas; my daughter and her family live in Ingalls, Indiana; Lew’s daughters and their families live in the Seattle area. I love my job at Fairview Christian School, particularly being able to serve such wonderful families alongside an outstanding staff. As the Apostle Paul so eloquently says, and I will take the liberty to paraphrase, “I am confident that God, who began a good work at Fairview will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

I grew up in Alaska and moved to Seattle in 1968. I have been married for 45 years to Janet (Ropkins). We have 3 grown children and 10 grandchildren. I retired from Boeing in 2006 after 31 years. I enjoy working at Fairview School and Child Center. My hobbies include hunting, fishing and camping.
Hi, I’m Amanda Olson and you can usually find me running around Fairview checking on all the wonderful Child Center staff! I fell into a little bit more free time since I have just finished up with my masters degree. Now I am on the search of some new hobbies. My husband Mark and I live in Bothell with our Lhasa poo, Kingston, and crazy funny daughter Amelia and son Parker. We are finding it so exciting to take her to new and exciting places and experiencing it through the eyes of our kiddos. So much fun! I really must say my favorite thing to do is laugh….got that from my mom I guess! Got a funny story? Please hook me up atAmandao@fcsseattle.org I truly enjoy every minute working here with some of the best co-workers (including my mom), awesome kids (including my own) and you amazing parents!
I grew up in Washington State and gave my heart to the Lord at a young age in Auburn. I met and married my life-partner, Darla, in Indiana. We have three lovely daughters, Emily, Erica, and Melanie, who have all attended Fairview Christian School. I like to mess around with gardening and keeping chickens and baking. My weakness is coffee and doughnuts. I’ve had the privilege of leading worship for over 15 years. Music feeds my soul. Fairview is a wonderful place filled with wonderful people and I look forward to seeing what God has in store for us. I like the verse where Jesus said, “Make your light shine, so that others will see the good that you do and will praise your Father in heaven.” (Matt. 5:16)
Hi, I’m Lori Sperry and I am the director of Fairview Child Center. I have been at Fairview since September of 2004. I was born and raised in San Diego. I have been married to my wonderful husband Mark for 32 years. I have three grown children and three beautiful grandchildren. When I am not working, I enjoy riding my motorcycle. There is nothing better than the sights, sounds and smells of God’s creation while on the bike! I love my job and being part of the Fairview family! Working alongside of my daughter Amanda is such a blessing and an added bonus.
